Free Apps and Books for 9/7

Want to know which of the new Kindles was the most popular?
The answer might surprise you. Based on our reporting, slightly more Fire Department fans went for the 8.9" 4G LTE Wireless version than the 7" HD 16GB version. Even though it's a bit more expensive, that 4G capability of being able to access email, the web, and download books and games anywhere had big appeal. Make no mistake, all of the models are flying off the shelf, but the 4G LTE Wireless option is turning out to be the big winner in this race!
Though everything below is free at the time of this posting, that can change at any time. Make sure you check the price before you purchase!

  1. Has anyone said how much the wireless connection fee will be after the year is up?

    1. Bonnie, it will be $50 per year, so there's no increase. To put that in perspective, you're saving $130 per year compared to what you'd be paying for this much data on a phone. It's turning out to be a fabulous deal. :)

  2. I feel silly, I 'm lost.... wireless connection fee? For what. I have a Kindle Fire, I have not been told about a wireless connection fee.

  3. Tina, the regular Kindle Fire requires you to be near a hotspot or wireless router to access the internet. The new bigger Kindle has a yearly fee and is capable of getting wireless anywhere.( Like your cell phone.)

  4. Thanks for explaining, Bonnie. Tina, there's never any cost to access WiFi internet, but the new version of the Kindle Fire HD has the capability of accessing internet most anywhere through phone networks.

    2. It's AT&T, with 4G, that's the maximum, so of course it'll work with 3G towers as well, which are more numerous.
